Dr. Duncan Hughes earned his medical degree from Weill-Cornell Medical Center at New York Presbyterian Medical Center in Manhattan, New York. He is a double board-certified surgeon in both general surgery and plastic and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Hughes has used his knowledge and training and traveled to India to perform cleft lip and palate repairs with Operation Smile.
Dr. Hughes has been published in over 25 peer-reviewed journals, as well as the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Annals of Plastic Surgery journals. He has also been awarded many grants for his research in medical education and neurology.
In his spare time, Dr. Duncan Hughes enjoys spending time with his wife and two children in Durham and competing in triathlon events all over the country.
